Jenna Speaking at Freeport School Disrict
Friday, March 24th, 2017 I spoke along with Margo Singer, BIANYS Training Program Coordinator and made a presentation to psychologists and social workers from the Freeport School District. I told my story about my life with concussions and what I have gone through and where I am today. When I was finished, Margo gave an hour presentation entitled “Supporting Students with Brain Injury.” Speaking to this group was extremely beneficial for the attendees. They asked me several questions that will help them be better prepared when dealing with possible concussion situations. The meeting also made me realize that several of the attendees didn’t have any idea how important it is to take concussions seriously. While speaking to a few of them, they weren’t up to date with the current basic medical protocols.
